<p>The Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurse (Informatics) within the Health Informatics Service. The Registered Nurse (Informatics) blends clinical expertise with technology to improve how Veterans receive care. In this role, you will support safe, high-quality, date-driven practice by enhancing clinical systems, advancing workflow efficiency, and strengthening the connection between staff, information, and patient outcomes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The duties of a Registered Nurse (Informatics) include, but are not limited to: Participates in local activities relating to the planning, development, and implementation of informatics solutions. Resolves issues and employs a range of informatics functions to include business process and workflow optimization, training, and education, content management, and addresses barriers to workflow and system adoption. Participates in activities that enhance healthcare capabilities and the evolution of technology adjoined to the electronic health record to deliver quality care by developing, implementation, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing informatics tools and access to them. Uses communication and education to support comprehension and drive adoption of organizational change. Effectively creates, integrates, disseminates, and manages data for enterprise applications, processes and entities requiring timely and accurate data delivery. Provides consultative services to all levels of the CA organization, in understanding health informatics initiatives, processes and measures, and the evidence- based practices upon which they are constructed. Provides staff with expert knowledge and skills across all informatics domains, to include a common vocabulary and understanding of the clinical environment in which they function, agnostic of the system or platform. Evaluates, documents, analyzes and prioritizes requirements for the improvement of the electronic health record and other systems in collaboration with the end-user. Analyzes end-to-end processes to evaluate workflows, identify gaps, develop evidence-based solutions; communicate changes using appropriate tools to promote adoption across all stakeholders. Participates in team activities that utilize the group process to evaluate enhancements to clinical IT applications and their use. Upon hire, the intended primary function of this position is Health Informatics Integration. Tasks include but are not limited to: Coordinate appropriate use of workload tracking applications by Health Informatics personnel, routing of issues/risks/requests, and escalation in accordance with established, prescribed process. Maintain enterprise awareness and mitigation of site electronic health record related issues/risks using effective communication and governance channels. Leverage project management practices to track tasks to closure. Support and guide staff in the appropriate submission of issues/risk/requests and assist with training and adoption of users. Manage databases for tracking and prioritizing electronic health record related issues/risks and generate data-driven reports to inform decision making by leadership, committees, and oversight entities. Coordinate local change control activities aligning implementation and sustainment of the electronic health record with the federal baseline standard.
