<p>This position is located at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare system, Pharmacy Service. The Outpatient Clinical Pharmacist performs the professional functions required in the operation of an outpatient dispensing Pharmacy. This includes activities that legally require a registered Pharmacist, as well as those that require the knowledge and expertise of a pharmacy professional. The Clinical Pharmacist works under the general supervision of an Outpatient Manager.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA Careers - Pharmacy: https://youtube.com/embed/Fn_ickNBEws The Clinical Pharmacist duties include, but are not limited to: Checks prescriptions filled by Pharmacy Technicians and students for completeness and correctness prior to the order being dispensed or mailed to patients. Documents interventions in a pharmacy note in CPRS when appropriate. Assists in the development and implementation of Medical Center and Pharmacy Service policies and procedures regarding safety and quality management. Reviews prescription orders electronically entered by providers in the context of the patient's existing medication profile. Assists in or supervises the reconstitution of medications for prescriptions as necessary. Assists in the training and orientation of newly hired pharmacists and technicians, interns, and students. Assists in the supervision of work activities of technicians, interns, students and volunteers. Checks and evaluates dispensing activities. Acts as preceptor or trainer for pharmacy interns, pharmacy students and technician students. Works with other clinical pharmacists to provide comprehensive clinical, informational and educational services.
