<p>The Fort Harrison Montana VA Medical Facility is currently recruiting for Primary Care Physicians to help serve our Nation's Heroes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>This Job Opportunity Announcement provides a mechanism for Vacancies that are currently vacant or may not presently exist but may become available at any point during the opening period of this vacancy announcement. Duties of the position include, but, are not limited to: Functions as the Physician Team leader of their Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), Ambulatory Care Services, Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) setting at (MTVAHCS). May perform additional duties (temporary or permanent) as a float provider (face-to-face or via telehealth) as those duties are assigned. Responsible for providing medical care in an outpatient setting following PACT principles. Will routinely provide medical care using Face-to-Face (F2F), VVC, and/or Telephone appointments. When performing duties as a float provider (F2F or telehealth) for remote patients, will provide care to outreach clinics as needed. Float provider duties (temporary or permanent) may require travel to the supported CBOC(s) periodically to cover a provider vacancy. Assures that clinical care provided meets all timelines and required documentation as required by VA. Providers must review alerts daily and have no more than 200 alerts at any given time. They must encounter their notes within 72 hours. Encounter errors must be completed within 7 days. Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings to achieve a patient centered, holistic approach for clinical care and needs of the Veteran. This includes daily and weekly huddles with your PACT. Comply with all directives and policies related to space management to achieve optimal resource utilization (space, professional and administrative) to maximize clinic utilization within the PACT model. Review available clinical and performance data with the team, focusing on continuous improvement of critical team processes. Participates in PACT performance improvement and sustainment activities to optimize team efficiency and care delivery to veterans. Implements Primary Care operations management processes, as appropriate. Manages communications and facilitating safe transitions of patients between the PACT's site of care and other health care settings, using informal and formal communication methods, as appropriate. Provides health education and health coaching on wellness, disease prevention, chronic care management, and self-management skills to veterans and personal support persons, commensurate with the documented expertise or professional training of the PACT member. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May be available for specific locations Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Complete all application requirements detailed in the "Required Documents" section of this announcement.<h3>Education</h3>Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted. OR Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) for the year in which the degree was granted. OR For foreign medical graduates not covered in (1) or (2) above, confirmation must be made that the medical school meets (or met) Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) eligibility requirement for year graduated. NOTE: The Under Secretary of Health or designee in the VHA Central Office may approve the appointment under authority of 38 U.S.C. 7405 of a physician graduate of a school of medicine not covered above if the candidate is to be assigned to a research, academic, or administrative position with no patient care responsibilities. The appointment will be made only in exceptional circumstances where the candidate's credentials clearly demonstrate high professional attainment or expertise in the specialty area.
