<p>The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, direction, and management in the planning development, implementation and evaluation of the hospital's nursing program in a manner that provides quality care, maximizes human and material resources, facilitates the team concept in the executive decision making process and in representing the nursing department in interactions with others. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Registered Nurse Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Supervisory Duties - Responsible for the quality of all nursing care provided within the health care program. Performs the full spectrum of supervisory personnel management (human resources) responsibilities by supervising subordinate clerical and professional positions with grades ranging from GS-7 to GS-12. Conducts meetings and conferences with subordinates, supervisors and employees to explain work requirements, methods and procedures as needed, giving special instructions on program changs and functions, goals and processes. Defines and enforces all appropriate standards including but not limited to those of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the USPH, the Indian Health Service and those of national nursing organizations, which set the current standards for nursing practices. Develops and implements systems to monitor operation of nursing service in such a way that trends and deviations from expected performance and unusual situations are detected promptly. Reports progress and resolutions of problems in achieving objectives to the Crow Chief Executive Director. Participates as an active member of the Crow Service Unit Management team in all decisions and strategic planning for the facility. Represents the hospital and nursing program in local, regional and national meetings and educational activities, including affiliations with schools of nursing.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>Selectee may be subject to a probationary period U.S. Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
