<p>About the Position: This is an Advanced Practice Nurse (Practitioner/Pediatrics) GS-0610-12 for Army Medical Center Madigan - Department of Pediatrics This is a Direct Hire Solicitation - Salary negotiation MAY be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service - Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide leadership in advanced practice nursing and delivers comprehensive preventive and therapeutic pediatric health care services within a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).</p><p>Provide independent and collaborative pediatric and adolescent specialty care, delivering comprehensive and therapeutic health services while integrating the art and science of pediatric/adolescent nursing into advanced medical practice.</p><p>Perform medical management functions, including comprehensive assessment of wellness, acute, non acute, and chronic clinical conditions, along with ongoing evaluation and coordination of patient care needs.</p><p>Develop and implement therapeutic care plans with specialty providers, emphasizing pediatric/adolescent patient and family education, assessment, understanding, and support.</p><p>provide comprehensive pediatric health care services, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, administering treatments, and prescribing medications in accordance with assessment findings and established standards of care.</p><p>Perform minor diagnostic procedures such as punch biopsies, mole removal, wart removal, needle aspiration for culture, and shave biopsies.</p><p>Perform procedures such as intravenous (IV) line placement, dressing changes, catheterization, wound irrigation, oxygen administration, and specimen collection such as blood and cerebrospinal fluid.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
