ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, (CCSQ) Coverage and Analysis Group (CAG). As a Supervisory Physician (CAG Director), GP-0602-15, you will function as the principal medical authority for the Agency on matters of Medicare coverage policy, clinical evidence standards, and health technology assessment.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide executive medical and scientific leadership for CAG (Coverage and Analysis Group).</p><p>Oversee divisions, directors, workforce, and resources.</p><p>Lead major coverage policies, regulations, and legislative analyses.</p><p>Represent CMS externally while building partnerships across agencies, medical societies, academia, industry, and patient groups.</p><p>Serve as CMS’s lead authority on Medicare coverage and evidence standards.</p><h3>Education</h3>Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (external link); Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) Degree from Foreign Medical School: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. TRANSCRIPTS are required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirement listed above. Failure to submit a copy of your transcripts at the time of application WILL result in an ineligible rating. License/Registration Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must possess the license/registration listed below: Proof of license/registration MUST be submitted at time of application.
