ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>This position is located in Medical Imaging Service, Boise VA Medical Center, Boise, ID.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Advises employees of performance requirements and keeps them informed of their progress in meeting these requirements. Provides directions to the team section Leads and personnel in managing their respective sections and offers advice and guidance in handling unique problems. Participates in selections for the Service, including promotion, performance appraisal, and awards. Ensures staff maintain a high level of skill and meets continuing education requirements for certification and/or licensure. Makes clear to staff the goals/priority of training students. Conducts staff meetings with staff in the absence of the Chief Tech, to exchange information, and discuss policy and procedure changes, safety and medical center issues. Participates in development/revision, implementation and communication of goals, policies, and standards for the department and coordinates the integration of Medical Imaging Service functions with other aspects of overall patient care. Works with Lead techs in addressing Medical Imaging Service issues and to support the maintenance of high-quality patient care. Directs and controls the purchase and inventory of medical imaging supplies. Serves as Primary Time Keeper by completing timecards for pay roll processing. Maintains and ensures staff are up to date on TMS or current training requirements. Compiles and analyzes data on departmental activities and prepares related reports to the Chief technologist of the Medical Imaging Service. Ensures hospital safety, infection control, universal precautions in accordance with age and/or gender specific departmental guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
