ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>Demonstrates proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning. Self-directed in goal setting for managing complex client situations. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide competent, evidence-based care to patients with oversight of license vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation , competencies and providing quality improvement and enhance outcomes utilization. Integrate knowledge, skills, abilities and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex situations for varying areas of nursing. Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities. Demonstrates competence in practice and decision-making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills for all patient care areas included within Resource Team assignments. Participate within unit based and/or organizational level Shared Governance councils, utilizing clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and knowledge to assist with finding solutions to problems. Validates understanding of the rationale for processes and decisions. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. Must float all areas of nursing. 3-4 years of recent medical-surgical, telemetry, ER or ICU experience. This is not a novice position. Flexible schedules of 8 hours shifts with weekend rotation (nights).</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
