Registered Nurse - Staff Inpatient - Acute Care Respiratory - EDRP Approved

<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>CTVHCS is in the process of making a cultural change, shifting from a disease-focused approach to a health and wellbeing approach, in order to implement the Whole Health System of Care. This is a VA-wide initiative to provide a comprehensive and systematic approach to improve healthcare delivery at all stages of Veteran care. This entails moving from an episodic, "siloed" approach to an interdisciplinary, holistic approach, emphasizing self-care in the larger context of well-being. All staff in this facility will be part of this process, shifting the focus from the question, "What's the matter with you?" to the question, "What matters to you, and how can we help you live your best life?" This strategy also involves integrating a full range of conventional approaches with Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) approaches in order to optimize lifelong health and well-being, as defined by the Veteran, rather than narrowly focusing on disease management. As a Registered Nurse - Staff Inpatient, you will provide competent, evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex health needs in an acute care setting. You will demonstrate proficiency through conscious, deliberate planning and independent clinical judgment. Duties include: Delivering safe, high-quality nursing care using critical thinking, deliberate planning, and sound decision-making. Managing complex patient situations, prioritizing and coordinating care across the continuum, and setting appropriate patient-centered goals. Administering medications and performing procedures in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and standards of practice. Providing patient education and supporting self-management to promote positive outcomes and patient satisfaction. Collaborating with licensed vocational nurses, nursing assistants, and members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective, coordinated, and patient-centered care delivery. Contributing to nursing orientation, competency development, and quality improvement activities aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes. Validating and questioning clinical practices when necessary to support evidence-based care and ensure safe patient outcomes. Managing competing priorities while maintaining professionalism, adaptability, and effective communication in a dynamic inpatient environment.
