<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this occupational series. The Registered Nurse-Spinal Cord Injury Nurse duties include but are not limited: Manage workload as assigned, organize, and complete own assignments in an efficient and appropriate manner. Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary care. Establish a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to attain, maintain or regain optimal function through assessment and treatment. Engage patients, families, and other caregivers to incorporate knowledge, values, and beliefs into care planning without judgement or discrimination. Knowledgeable of ethical issues related to professional nursing practice and follow established policies of the practice setting, VA, and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Aware of high reliability principles to deliver consistent care and improve patient outcomes. Demonstrate positive, effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers.
