ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the outpatient Specialty Care team, aligned within Chief of Staff service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based outpatient care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. Duties Include, but are not limited to: Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of patient care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Actively participates in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy. Practices sensitivity to the special needs of all patients in respect to age, developmental requirements, and culturally related factors.
