<p>South Texas Veterans Health Care System is seeking an RN for Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program at the Audie L. Murphy Division in San Antonio, TX who will be responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care based on age-specific components, coordinating care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care and administering medications and procedures.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>As a Polytrauma Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN), you will execute position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Collaborate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Demonstrate performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients. Provide peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement. Support colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care. Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals. Evaluate outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations. Document outcomes at the program/service level. Program or service level outcomes are broad and complex, demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Subject to background/security investigation. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Pre-Employment/Post-Employment Physical Examination: May be required, depending on the needs of the organization.<h3>Education</h3>The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Verification of accreditation may be obtained from http://www.acenursing.us/accreditedprograms/programsearch.htm or https://directory.ccnecommunity.org/reports/accprog.asp If your school has changed names, or is no longer in existence, you must provide this information in your application. If your school was accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation, but is no longer listed on the websites, you must provide documentation of accreditation with your application packet. If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education.
