<p>The Registered Nurse Manager (NM) focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. This nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills. Demonstrates the fundamental knowledge of the unit and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Nurse Manager brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and participating in process improvement initiatives. The Nurse Manager is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other Nurse Managers as needed. The Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. Nurse Manager function as a role model , educator , practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. Enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/process. The Nurse Manager seeks knowledge from professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. Equips staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. Cultivates alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence. The Nurse Manager maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standard, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP). Promotes an inclusive workplace valuing diversity to achieve the organizations vision and mission. Demonstrates the ability to improve the effectiveness of communications and interactions with others, to inspire their cooperation and confidence to ensure safe and effective outcomes in the current practice setting. Participates in the advancement of the profession through mentoring, precepting, and or teaching.
