ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nursing Informatics position in Dallas, TX.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Bar Code Medication Administration System Coordinator. Exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated programs/applications. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network. Works closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide. Responsible for the documentation and reporting of outcomes of assigned tasks at the program or service level. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of workflows, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care of all areas included within assignments. Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement. Supports colleagues and other nurses through continuous knowledge acquisition and sharing. Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and process changes. Responsible for the documented outcomes at the program, service, and VISN level. Facilitates the integration of data, information, knowledge and wisdom to support, nurses, and other providers in their decision making processes. This support is accomplished using information structures, workflows, information processes, and information technology. Influences care outcomes by providing subject expert (SME) level consultation and guidance to staff and leadership within the field of his/her specialty and by implementing improvements in health care applications and processes. Functions as an internal consultant in the evaluation of programs, resources, and services. Initiates and maintains databases, prepares, reports, and works collaboratively with others to assess variances and project needs. Facilitates recommendations for systems and/or resource changes that will serve to improve the work force and resource utilization. Upon completion of your probationary period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.<h3>Education</h3>The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
