ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) demonstrates proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning. The RN is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex client situations and is directly responsible to the designated manager in Hemodialysis. The RN is responsible and accountable for the coordination and delivery of quality nursing care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Registered Nurse utilizes comprehensive knowledge and skills to implement the nursing process across a collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare setting. This includes promoting health, preventing illness, managing acute and chronic conditions, and supporting patients and their families through end-of-life care when necessary. The RN demonstrates leadership in maintaining the effectiveness of the clinical environment and ensuring compliance with established standards of care. As a licensed professional, the RN is accountable for independent clinical judgment and actions. In addition to core competencies, the RN possesses proficiency in caring for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), and late-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD). As a primary nurse for ESRD patients, the RN plays a key role in care coordination, acting as a resource and advocate to help patients navigate complex healthcare systems. The RN monitors and trends patient outcomes, reports needs to the interdisciplinary team, and works collaboratively to resolve patient care challenges using a team-based approach. The RN also supports nursing education, orientation, and competency development while contributing to quality improvement efforts aimed at enhancing care delivery and patient outcomes. With strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and planning skills, the RN effectively manages complex patient care scenarios and is self-directed in setting and achieving professional goals.
