<p>This Registered Nurse-Assistant Nurse Manager-Medical Oncology(Unit 4D) position is located at the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. Please learn more about the position below, along with the duties.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Registered Nurse-Assistant Nurse Manager-Medical Oncology(Unit 4D) has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance. The ANM functions as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. They enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. The ANM engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. They adhere to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. The ANM equips staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. They cultivate alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence. The ANM contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. The ANM promotes an inclusive workplace valuing diversity to achieve the organization's vision and mission. The ANM maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP). Duties include, but are not limited to: -Leads the provision of nursing care to patients with complex care needs utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. -Improves Veteran/patient driven care by resolving experience issues such as coordination of care, timeliness or process issues, common themes of dissatisfaction, or environment of care. -Serves as a resource for patients, caregivers, and staff to address and resolve ethical issues in the immediate practice setting. -Leads the implementation of high reliability principles and I CARE values to increase consistency of care delivered and improve patient outcomes. -Demonstrates the ability to improve the effectiveness of communications and interactions with others, to inspire their cooperation and confidence to ensure safe and effective outcomes in the current practice setting. -Considers alternative courses of action. Respects the opinions, abilities, and contributions of others. Encourages individual growth and development. -Effectively sets group goals and keeps self and team informed of the latest trends and developments. Inspires the cooperation and confidence of others. Supports the professional growth of others. -Leads patient care improvement through monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating care outcomes in the immediate practice setting.
