Physician (Occupational Medicine)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Naval Base Health Clinic Kings Bay. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Serves as a Physician to provide Occupational Medicine services to employees in various occupations, of various ages, and with various health issues.</p><p>Independently perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required.</p><p>Provide comprehensive work-related care to employees, taking into account factors such as new and emerging procedures and techniques and the individual’s medical and occupational history, as well as information gained through diagnostic tests.</p><p>Counsels employees on workplace hazards and exam results.</p><p>Notifies management of exam results and recommends appropriate work restrictions and accommodations.</p><p>Serves as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and boards.</p><p>Develops and oversees medical surveillance and medical qualification programs.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
