ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Physician Assistant is assigned to the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System Pulmonary section. The Physician Assistant will provide clinical care in outpatient sleep clinic and outpatient pulmonary home oxygen clinic. Schedule assignments will be based upon the needs of the pulmonary section.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled in any similar occupational series. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provide direct patient care under supervision for pulmonary and sleep conditions Evaluate and manage patients with sleep disorders Evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary disorders Evaluate and manage patients requiring home oxygen Manage acute, episodic, and chronic respiratory conditions Order diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and sleep studies as indicated Provide patient education on pulmonary and sleep disorder management Collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal care plans Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
