<p>Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Serves as the Chief Pharmacist at a Federal Bureau of Prisons' correctional facility. Responsible for all aspects of pharmacy operations including dispensing, pharmaceutical care, clinical and community relations, and accreditation compliance. Plans and provides a completely integrated pharmacy program and coordinates these programs with all other departments within the institution. This includes the provision of pharmacy services, which may include inpatient, outpatient, parenteral preparations, and logistical solutions to satellite facilities including detention centers, camps, WitSec units, administrative detention, and disciplinary segregation. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the medication delivery system and assures that the integrity of all medications are maintained and properly stored. Responsible for the institution's pharmaceutical budget and ensures national contract compliance as the Contract Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for the Preferred Prime Vendor (PPV) program, Veterans Administration (VA) contracts, Federal Supply Schedules (FSS), General Services Administration (GSA), and mandatory contracts as they pertain to medication ordering. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and is performed on a regular and recurring basis.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>Career Transition Programs (CTAP or ICTAP): These programs apply to Federal and/or DOJ employees who meet the definition of surplus or displaced from a position in the competitive service.
