<p>Dietitians in this assignment serve as a Facility Program Coordinator leading a Multidisciplinary team. They are administratively responsible for specialty programs and provide program-specific leadership, guidance and direction, technical advice, and staff development.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Manages all Aspects of the Program for the facility, assuming local compliance with national policy and direction. Coordinates with the multidisciplinary team to develop local goals. Measures progress toward the goals and reports to the appropriate officials at a local, VISN and national level. Provides direct patient care by developing and implementing comprehensive nutrition therapy, practicing within their scope clinical privileges. Serves as the Professional and technical advisor for their programs. Promotes and maintains effective working relationships with all facility and significant parties at the national, state local level. Directs or participates in the design of studies, collects data, conducts statistical analysis, interprets findings, and translates results into written and oral communication. Sets priorities, delegates tasks, meets multiple deadlines, analyzes organizational problems, and develops and implements effective solutions, Serves as a consultant and technical advisor within NFS and with other Facility health care staff in evaluating health care delivery to veterans and employees. Determines the continuing education needs of programs and staff and appropriate resources to meet those needs. Oversees all aspects of the program, policy, and procedures development. Oversees development and maintenance of training and reference materials. Establishes and manages program goals and objectives. Plans and administers programs, coordinates associated activities and resources, evaluates program accomplishments redefines, priorities, problem solves, and modifies objectives. Takes and active role in fiscal management for the program, identifying resource needs that may include staffing, supplies, and contracts ect. Maintains program information through approved Social Media outlets. May perform other duties as assigned which are appropriate for this GS Grade Level. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm work hours may vary depending on agency needs, Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not available Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
