<p>The Registered Nurse - SPS Clinical Quality Liaison serves as a clinical expert in sterile processing, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the nursing process related to the safe handling, processing, and management of Reusable Medical Devices (RMD). Ensures compliance with clinical guidelines, infection control standards, and established policies while supporting education, quality improvement, and customer service initiatives across patient care areas.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care in the management of complex patient care. The Perioperative RN Coordinator in collaboration with the perioperative team and physicians, plans, organizes, and directs the services to optimize surgical scheduling and efficiency management. Schedules, adjusts, and optimizes the Operating Room (OR) schedule to maximize utilization, including managing block time and releasing unused blocks. Coordinates, prioritizes, and sequences cases for multiple surgeons, including managing add-on or emergency cases. Verifies that patients have completed necessary pre-operative tasks, such as medical clearance, testing, and imaging. Reviews schedules in advance to assess, plan, and verify resource needs (equipment, instruments, staffing). Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR nursing staff to prevent scheduling conflicts. Creates and maintains surgeon preference cards (equipment, instrument, room set up, and medication needs). Acts as a liaison with Sterile Processing Service (SPS) and Logistics to ensure instruments and supplies are available. Ensures specialized equipment, loaner instrumentation, and implants are ordered and ready for the case. Oversees availability and readiness of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment. Tracks usage and assists in cost-containment initiatives. Verification of accreditation may be obtained from http://www.acenursing.us/accreditedprograms/programsearch.htm or https://directory.ccnecommunity.org/reports/accprog.asp If your school has changed names, or is no longer in existence, you must provide this information in your application. If your school was accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation, but is no longer listed on the websites, you must provide documentation of accreditation with your application packet.
