ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Registered Nurse Program Manager Supervisor demonstrates integration of biopsychosocial concepts, cognitive skills, and technically competent practice while providing care to clients. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care within the program focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Registered Nurse Program Manager Supervisor is responsible for education by developing formal and informal written plans for the SPS training program, in compliance with accreditation organizations and VHA-specific requirements, as well as medical center policies and procedures for SPS and related staff. Facilitates SPS staff training through educational programs and job specific instruction. Improves SPS processes by facilitating the adoption of new technology for reusable medical devices through training for all new and existing staff. Develop, monitor, and revise SPS educational programs for both new and existing staff. The incumbet will also manage and provide oversight of the Quality Management System and the Instrument Tracking Syste, per VHS Directive 1116 (2). Duties include but not limited to: Plans and delivers technically competent care to patients in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks ensuring assigned delegated tasks are completed by team members. Manages nursing care of patients, organizes, and completes own assignments in a safe and timely manner, assisting team members as necessary. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary care Establishes a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to achieve optimal function through assessment and treatment of their health enhancing the patient experience, satisfaction, and/or safety Recognizes ethical issues related to professional nursing practice and behaves in an appropriate manner through observance of established policies and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Applies high reliability principles and ICARE values to improve patient outcomes. Demonstrates the ability to communicate confidently with members of the healthcare team and demonstrate professional behaviors that promotes cooperation and teamwork. Shares knowledge and creates opportunities for collaboration that encourage team cohesiveness. Demonstrates professional behavior and works effectively with others, builds on strengths, and takes positive action to meet growing responsibilities. Seek out new learning opportunities and shares evidence-based practice/research with peers to improve patient care Share techniques to deliver cost-effective care with peers. Integrate patient preferences into daily delivery of quality patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.
