ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Nurse Practitioner is assigned to Central Texas Veterans Health Care System Pulmonary section. The Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical care in outpatient sleep clinic and outpatient pulmonary home oxygen clinic. Schedule assignments will be based upon the needs of the pulmonary section.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled in any similar occupational series. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provide direct patient care under supervision for pulmonary and sleep conditions Evaluate and manage patients with sleep disorders Evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary disorders Evaluate and manage patients requiring home oxygen Manage acute, episodic, and chronic respiratory conditions Order diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and sleep studies as indicated Provide patient education on pulmonary and sleep disorder management Collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal care plans Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
