Nurse (Labor and Delivery)

<p>About the Position: Provides highly specialized nursing care to complicated obstetrical patients and newborns who require complex maternal/fetal monitoring and close observation for subtle changes in condition. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide highly specialized nursing care to complicated and routine laboring, perioperative, and post anesthesia obstetrical patients and newborns.</p><p>Formulate complex plans to meet patient care needs and continually revise goals and objectives according to changes in maternal/fetal status.</p><p>Administer oxygen therapy and utilize intensive pulmonary care techniques.</p><p>Monitor sophisticated equipment used in the care of complicated obstetrical patients such as electronic fetal monitors, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, cardiac monitors, and EKG machines.</p><p>Administer a wide variety of rapid-acting, highly potent medications according to specialty policies, procedures, and protocols.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
