NURSE (CLINICAL)

<p>About the Position: Serves as a Nurse (Clinical) in a Military Treatment Facility or clinic environment within the Defense Health Agency. Provides professional nursing services and related duties during operating hours to eligible beneficiaries in an outpatient setting. Assignments may be varied according to patient care and staffing requirements. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provides comprehensive nursing care for all ages and families in the Medical Home Port Team utilizing evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and engages patients actively in their health care.</p><p>Directs and provides individualized age specific care for patients in all age groups, across the life span.</p><p>Directs, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates activities related to the delivery of ambulatory nursing care with the Medical Home Port Team.</p><p>Demonstrates clinical expertise in the execution of the nursing process and directs staff in its application.</p><p>Administers or supervises the administration of routine intravenous fluids and/or medications.</p><p>Monitors and/or administers diagnostic and therapeutic agents</p><p>Initiates and maintains medical history on patients, recording observations and stated symptoms for use by the Medical Home Port Team.</p><p>Observes and records pertinent vital signs, determines and orders laboratory procedures on patients that may be required by the provider to diagnose and treat the patient, per command and department policies.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
