Nurse (Clinical/Emergency Department)

<p>About the Position: This position is located in the department of emergency medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a term appointment, not to exceed 13 months.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting for urgent or emergent care.</p><p>Respond to all emergencies during the shift.</p><p>Mentor professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.</p><p>Take medical histories to acquire medically necessary information to assess physical and mental status of patient.</p><p>Function as a charge nurse on a rotational basis.</p><p>Participate in continuing education programs to update and/or maintain skills and knowledge to meet annual requirements.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
