<p>The Chief of Sterile Processing Service (SPS) is a direct report to the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS) of the Roseburg VA Health Care System, a Complexity III facility. This position is characterized by responsibility and accountability for all elements of nursing process when providing oversight and direction for aspects of SPS across the organization and assessing outcomes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Roseburg (Home | City of Roseburg), Eugene (Eugene, OR Website | Official Website (eugene-or.gov)), North Bend (Coastal community- City of North Bend, Oregon - Official Website (northbendoregon.us)) and Brookings (Southern Coast; Brookings, OR - Official Website | Official Website) offer an abundant of outdoor adventures and experiences that is bordered by picturesque rivers and lush valleys. Roseburg, Oregon is known for its 359 miles of streams along the north and south forks of the Umpqua River. The Roseburg area reflects small-town values, has dedicated business leaders and a strong education system from K-12 to our local community college. Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties include but are not limited to the following: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates outcomes. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of all aspects of the sterile processing service to include high level disinfection, sterilization, sterile storage, infection control and prevention as well as customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Ensures that all applicable Veterans Health Administration (VHA) policies and guidelines are followed and that the American Association of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) guidelines are followed per VHA Directive 1116. Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 20 Advisory Board; Clinical Product Review Committee (CPRC); Reusable Medical Device (RMD) Committee, Environment of Care (EOC) Rounds; and the Enterprise Equipment Request (EER) Committee. Demonstrates leadership in developing and maintaining productive working relationships with groups in other medical programs and services across the spectrum of care, including, but not limited to Operative Care, Gastroenterology, ophthalmic surgical procedures, dental surgical procedures, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgical procedures, urological surgical procedures, and medical and surgical patient care areas. Executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for integrated programs that cross service and or discipline lines and influence organizational mission and safe, infection-free health care.
