Medical Technician

<p>About the Position: This position is located at BLD 576 Jefferson Ave at McDonald Army Health Clinic inside a secured laboratory, Expected hours are M-F 0730-1630. This position involves contributing to a team dynamic to provide services to active duty military, beneficiaries and their families. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Receive patient's specimens of blood, urine, stool, microbiological and viral cultures, tissue, body fluids and cytological specimens.</p><p>Check that all specimens are properly and completely labeled.</p><p>Prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring that the physiologic properties are maintained.</p><p>Ensure timely distribution to laboratory sections of all specimens received.</p><p>Perform and calculate manual cell counts and properly identifies abnormal and normal blood cell populations.</p><p>Collect, test, and process donated blood into treatment specific components.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
