ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The LPN functions as a member of the team as assigned. Performs most complex practical nursing care assignments with precision and efficiency consistent with Nursing Service policy and procedure and within the legal and ethical responsibilities of the LPN. Demonstrates self-direction and flexibility in fulfilling the requirements of a complex assignment.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include, but not limited to: Screens all recipient's pre-vaccine for potential concerns as identified by facility guidelines. Educates recipient and administers vaccine as indicated. Documents vaccine administration using appropriate medical record system. Monitors pre and post vaccination for potential side effects and refers for additional assessment/care as indicated. Participates in teaching and rehabilitation. Initiates appropriate nursing intervention based on sound judgement and principles. Provides continuity of resident care by adhering to established work schedule. Contribute to team planning and development of individualized, interdisciplinary plan of care to facilitate safe, efficient care and transport. Assist during emergency situations including initiating and/or assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and obtain equipment and supplies as requested by the registered nurse or provider. Provide postmortem care. Documents and verbally reports pertinent resident, staff, and visitor information according to Center and Nursing Service policy and procedure. Uses Therapeutic intervention to prevent and control inappropriate and disturbed behavior. Safely and effectively uses equipment required for resident care. Uses supplies and additional resources appropriately. Adheres to VA policies and procedures and makes frequent reference to them for questions. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm (subject to change based on the needs of the facility) Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
