<p>The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse is to perform assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the Veteran.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to: - Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, collecting data, and reporting changes to the RN or provider. - Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical protocols and scope of practice. - Support providers and RNs in patient assessments by gathering health histories and documenting observations. - Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation. - Participate in patient and family education by reinforcing teaching plans developed by RNs or providers. - Ensure infection control and safety procedures are followed in all clinical areas. - Respond to patient needs promptly and escalate concerns as appropriate. - Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for patient care. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support effective patient care delivery. - Contribute to quality improvement activities, audits, and compliance tasks. - Participate in emergency responses within the unit according to training and protocol.
