ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) serves within the Mental Health Service lines at the Kansas City VA Medical Center, providing high-quality practical nursing care with advanced technical skill in a Veteran-centered environment. Working under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee, the LPN/LVN delivers care to patients with a wide range of physical and behavioral health needs.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include, but are not limited to: Ability to observe, identify and respond to the patient's need for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education. In organizing and delivering care, the LPN recognized and considers emotional, cultural, spiritual, socio-economic, and age-related factors. Demonstrate technical proficiency in initiating, performing, and completing assigned duties in providing care to patient populations at all complexity levels and care settings. Knowledge and ability to appropriately carry out assigned patient care based on the patient's conditions. Use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments. Accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information.
