Dental Hygienist

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia Directorate Branch Clinic/Naval Station Norfolk, General Dentistry. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Review radiographs and conducting a thorough examination of each patient's teeth and oral tissues.</p><p>Review and consult with dentist on individual patient based on the Periodontal Screening and Plaque Index examination.</p><p>Ensure instruments are maintained in aseptic condition.</p><p>Coordinate all aspects of the DDS Directorate's Health Promotions Program (HPP).</p><p>Provide health promotion in the community.</p><p>Coordinate general health awareness efforts among eligible beneficiaries and staff.</p>
