ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Associate Director for Patient Care Services is the Nurse Executive for West Texas Veterans Health Care System. She/he is responsible for the practice of nursing 24/7 by registered nurses, advance practice nurses, and allied health staff (LVNs, NAs, Health Techs, etc.).</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive (ADPCS/NE) is the top executive within nursing and is a key member of the executive leadership team of the organization, involved in strategic planning, organizational assessment, and program development. The Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive has the authority and responsibility for establishing standards of nursing practice and ensuring the continuous and timely availability of quality nursing services. She/he is the chief spokesperson for organized nursing services and is the catalyst for the integration and collaboration of nursing with other professional disciplines and functional areas in the mutual achievement of patient-centered and organizational goals. The Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive will exercise final authority and approval over nursing functional statements/job descriptions, nursing care policies and procedures; nursing standards of patient care, treatment, and services; standards of nursing practice; nurse staffing plans; and standards to measure, assess, and improve patient outcomes. Complete all application requirements detailed in the "Required Documents" section of this announcement.<h3>Education</h3>The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
