<p>The Nurse IV Associate Chief Nurse (ACN) Specialty Outpatient executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross services and/or discipline lines, and influence the organizational healthcare mission.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Nurse IV Associate Chief Nurse (ACN) Specialty Outpatient executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross services and/or discipline lines and, influence the organizational healthcare mission. The ACN Specialty Outpatient Nursing Service is responsible for nursing services provided in specialty outpatient clinics at John Cochran Campus and Jefferson Barrack Campus, Heme/Oncology, Employee Health and Wellness, Home Telehealth, Traveling Veteran Program, Telehealth Services and Home Based Primary Care. Duties include, but are not limited to: Develops, organizes, and directs clinical and non-clinical operational aspects with an added emphasis on delivering services where it is needed. Routinely analyzes plans and actions related to practice, quality and safety issues to identify and improve performance and attain outcomes for Veteran healthcare. Able to inspire individuals to build consensus and cooperation that creates a shared vision and advance goals. Provides guidance and oversight of program management to ensure proper resource utilization. Participates in continuous learning to successfully promote and apply economic concepts and business models to set priorities. Assesses and evaluates facility-wide patient care delivery policies and programs to support senior leadership goals. Assists with the creation of a workforce to serve Veterans, families, and caregivers of all backgrounds at the organizational level. Seeks and utilizes healthcare policy and practices to enable the delivery of reliable and accessible healthcare. Recognizes, cultivates, and integrates health care practices that address social and health inequities. Contributes to visionary thinking that advances the delivery of patient care. Establishes and maintains highly effective relationships at all levels of the organization. Relates effectively with front-line staff, customers, and leaders at the program and service level. Communicates with transparency, clarity, and integrity. Develops and supports an environment for ethical decision-making throughout the organization. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
