<p>The Assistant Nurse Manager in Community Care functions as a clinical expert responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Demonstrates sound decision-making, judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills, influencing care outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative process improvement initiatives.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Vancouver, Washington sits on the north bank of the Columbia River directly across from Portland, Oregon. The Pacific Coast is less than 90 miles to the west. The Cascade Mountain Range rises on the east. Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument and Mt. Hood are less than two hours away! Get out and enjoy nature along the Columbia River! The Columbia River provides wonderful opportunities to take in the evergreen forests, agriculture and vast wildlife. It is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Duties The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their designated Community Care units, providing coverage for other ANMs as needed. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Clinical Practice & Care Coordination Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Functions as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor, providing leadership to the team. Staff Development & Supervision Clinical Practice & Care Coordination Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, and development of staff. Evaluates individual staff performance. Equips staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Leadership Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based programs and processes. Cultivates alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence. Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Ethics, Accountability & Professional Standards Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Strategic Planning & Organizational Alignment Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care. Aligns nursing and clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Promotes an inclusive workplace valuing diversity to achieve the organization's vision and mission. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
