ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Marion VA Medical Center Extended Care line is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Community Living Center (CLC). The ANM for the CLC unit holds the responsibility for implementation of the Vision, Mission and values of the Marion VA Healthcare System. The ANM is engaged in administrative nursing practice characterized by both increased complexity of clinical decision making and enhanced skill in nursing management.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Assistant Nurse Manager - Community Living Center The Assistant Nurse Manager (CLC) is a self-directed nurse leader accountable to the Nursing Manager, ensuring resident-centered nursing care, staff supervision, and compliance with clinical and administrative standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight: Works under the Nursing Manager to ensure the 24/7 operation of the unit, providing timely, high-quality nursing care that meets accepted clinical standards. Nursing Standards: Develops and implements nursing standards for specific resident populations in long-term care, ensuring compliance with ethical and privacy requirements. Staff Management: Plans and prioritizes work, assigns tasks based on staff capabilities, evaluates performance, provides counseling, and resolves complaints. Recruitment & Training: Assists with interviews, selection, and hiring new staff; identifies training needs and arranges development opportunities. Regulatory Compliance: Maintains accreditation readiness, supports performance measures and ensures adherence to federal/state regulations. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Leads interdisciplinary groups to build relationships with professional and health-related organizations. Quality & Safety: Implements quality improvement initiatives, medication safety protocols, and patient care standards. Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: not authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
