<p>About the Position: This position is located at Tripler Army Medical Center in the Directorate of Surgery, Anesthesiology Services. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform professional nursing duties of a specialized nature in the care of patients requiring the most recent advances in general, intravenous, and regional anesthesia.</p><p>Maintain responsibility for determining the optimal type and method of anesthesia care to administer, for a broad range of surgical procedures.</p><p>Support and promote ongoing research and publication of findings, for expansion and enhancement of the advanced practice role and latest initiatives in anesthesiology technologies.</p><p>Comply with current standards of anesthesia practice and care.</p><p>Conduct and participate in educational programs that improve anesthesia nursing practice.</p><p>Demonstrate competency in pre-anesthesia preparation; anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence; conscious sedation; pain management; post anesthesia care; peri-anesthetic and clinical support functions.</p><p>Systematically collect data through interviews, observation, physical examination, and review of medical records, prior to scheduled surgery.</p><p>Determine necessity for laboratory studies, coordinates ordering of laboratory tests and evaluates results.</p><p>Interpret and report abnormal diagnostic data and changes in signs and symptoms; modifies anesthetic plan accordingly.</p><p>Induce anesthesia to safe, appropriate levels, and manages patient care throughout the surgical procedure.</p><p>Provide a full range of emergency services, including life-saving procedures, to resuscitate and stabilize patients, within the scope of practice and approved guidelines.</p><p>Participate in departmental continuous improvement programs and processes.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
