ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Women's Health Specialty Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) identifies evidence based practice and develops basic skills to provide care to patients seeking complex gynecology care, breast health and gender informed care. Seeks guidance when assisting with gynecology procedures and explores patient driven care principles when providing basic education on routine procedures. Is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. The focus is on individual growth and development in Women's Health practice with increased levels of self-direction. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient. The Women's Health Specialty Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex Women's Health Program. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve Women's Health care beyond the clinic setting. Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement. Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality Women's Health care. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals. Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for the Women's Health Program. Responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level. Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within the facility, or VISN or VACO.
