<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Demonstrates expert knowledge, technical skills, and application of the nursing process in providing comprehensive, effective healthcare to the patient. 2. Follows current policy and procedures in completing the required clinical reminders for Specialty Outpatient clinics which includes but not limited to: Suicidal ideation/ Homicidal ideation, PTSD/Depression, Positive Audit-C (alcohol screening). Notifies provider and/or RN of findings and completes documentation appropriately. 3. Documents Temperature & Humidity in specified locations where RMD items and supplies are and stored. Adheres to the policy and procedures when readings indicate out of range. 4. Assist with Telehealth clinics, when need arises. 5. Communicate and collaborate with the Facility Telehealth Coordinator (FTC) in working through process issues, equipment needs/problems, data collection, or any other logistical telehealth issues. 6. Adapts to the individual needs of every Specialty clinic while providing care to patient and assisting the provider. 7. Serve as a chaperone for gender-specific exams when required. 8. Demonstrates ICARE values and professional behaviors, i.e., respect for others, collegiality, use of professionalism communication (verbal, non-verbal and email), ability to accept constructive criticism, etc. 9. Participates and ensures a "time-out" is performed prior to procedures and documents with all required information per policy. 10. Completes education on sterile field and demonstrates maintenance of sterile filed when required. 11. Documents the patient's care given in the Electronic Health Record, according to policy. 12. Performance reflects knowledge in areas of care specific to Specialty Outpatient clinical services. 13. Performs, reports, and records assigned nursing care in the Specialty Care Clinics, including, but not limited to Oxygen therapy, check expiration dates of medications and supplies, delegated procedures, and treatments, assists with minor procedures, including obtaining and arranging necessary equipment, positioning patient, ensuring comfort and privacy of patient. Monitors patient during the procedure and report and documents any deviations or changes. 14. Coordinates patient care of multiple patients, prioritizing patient care to ensure patient needs are met in a timely fashion to enhance patient flow. 15. Performs all aspects of patient care, within scope of practice, in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical and/or healthcare errors. 16. Demonstrates knowledge of location, care, and operation of Specialty OPC specific equipment. Aware of RMD Directives and can locate unit RMD notebooks with procedures and manufacture instructions for all RMD. Demonstrates competency in set-up, use, reprocessing/cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all identified RMD equipment. Aware of responsibilities thereof. 17. Assists in the orientation and competency validation of peers. Work Schedule: 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
