Supervisory Physician (Psychiatry)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at WRNMMC with the Director for Mental Health, Department of MH Consultation and Education, Psychiatry Consultation Liaison in Bethesda, MD. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide routine, complex, and emergency mental health care for a wide range of emotional, psychological, and mental disorders.</p><p>Develop and implement treatment plans using advanced knowledge and skills, considering multiple therapeutic alternatives.</p><p>Make appropriate referrals to internal and external medical and mental health providers as needed.</p><p>Serve as an expert advisor on mental health policies and procedures within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).</p><p>Implement and monitor program initiatives for effectiveness and access.</p><p>Ensure all personnel receive necessary professional training and continuing education.</p><p>Oversee and participate in training programs for medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.</p><p>Set goals and provide administrative and technical direction to subordinates.</p><p>Assign performance ratings, approve awards, and take corrective actions as needed.</p><p>Identify developmental and training needs of employees.</p><p>Provide or arrange for necessary training and development opportunities.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
