Supervisory Optometrist

<p>This position is located in the Optometry Section, Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center in Bloomfield, NM. The purpose of this position is to provide overall management to the Optometry Program, administrative eye services, and direct and comprehensive primary, preventive and therapeutic medical and optometric care to individuals across the spectrum of age and develioment within a high-risk population. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Prescribe corrective lenses and provides contact lens, vision rehabilitation, and relate therapeutic services as indicated Provide full-scope diabetic eye evaluations and delivers diabetic eye pathology consultation and education to patient and staff Independently diagnoses and manages visual disorders and ocular medical problems; provides advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both technical and administrative matters Finds and implements ways to improve workflow, productivity and quality of services.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>Selectee may be subject to a probationary period ESEP appointees typically serve a two-year trial period U.S. Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.
