ABOUT THIS ROLE

<p>The Supervisor Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist DRT(R) has overall responsibility for clinical and administrative operations in the General Radiology Section of the Imaging Service of the Charles George VA Medical Center, to plan, direct and provide oversight of general radiography services on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>DUTIES: Employ HPDM II leadership principles to sustain a General Radiology Section that is effective, efficient, and has staff reaching their optimal level of performance. Develop standard operating procedures, guidelines, checklists, and best practices and promote briefings and other tools of Clinical Team Training to foster an effective care team. Use leadership skills to sustain efficient processes and engage staff to adapt to new procedures and techniques, and uphold the standards, goals, and mission of the Medical Center. Make contributions to direct patient care to ensure personal mastery of frontline processes and techniques. Verify and maintain staff proficiency through training, continuing education, coaching, and mentoring. Staff competencies include knowledge and skills related to the duties of a general diagnostic radiologic technologist, and general competencies of a VA employee. Serve as the principal quality manager for the Radiography Section. Provide oversight of technical and clinical quality with monitors and indices of quality, and initiate corrections as needed. Facilitate and oversee performance improvement activities, including study design, data collection, analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up.- Manage staffing. Develop staffing plans and strategy to maintain proper staffing levels. Anticipate staffing variance and recommend corrective actions. Initiate promotion, reassignment, or other personnel actions. Develop systematic hiring practices to assess qualifications of prospective employees and to guide selection of the most qualified candidates. Evaluate new products, equipment, and services, including purchases, upgrades, and enhancements; make selection recommendations using data-driven assessments. Guide effective use of information technology including PACS, VISTA, CPRS, the intranet and the internet. Use knowledge and leadership skills to foster effective labor relations. Consult with HR ER/LR Specialist and other leaders to achieve an effective balance of management and AFGE rights. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
