Resources Pool Registered Nurse

<p>The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care at San Francisco VA Health Care System. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components. The RN will assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>**This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until August 31, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be July 7, 2026 with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks. Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Accounts for utilizing critical thinking skills and sound judgment to ensure positive outcomes. Recognizes subtle abnormal signs and symptoms and/or changes in patients' condition and responds appropriately. Considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. Poises and articulates in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. Works cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments. Participates in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Demonstrates evidence of critical thinking skills in identifying, analyzing, and resolving patient care problems on the unit. Develops and implements a plan to meet learning needs, instructing patients and families educational needs and discharge planning. Ensures that assigned delegated tasks are completed by team members.
