<p>The Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Registered Nurse (RRTP) Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintains self-awareness while caring for patients living with substance use disorder and/or Mental Health (MH) conditions.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Start your VA career here Aurora Chamber of Commerce The RRTP RN provides patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintains self-awareness while caring for patients living with substance use disorder and/or MH conditions. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Follow procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influence care outcomes through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Provide and lead the provision of competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients. Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintain self-awareness while caring for patients living with substance use disorder and/or MH conditions. Facilitate shift report, warm hand-offs, and nurse-led psychoeducational groups; use therapeutic communication techniques, practice de-escalation techniques, utilize recovery-oriented language, and provide oversight of the patient safe medication management program. Actively participate in MH interdisciplinary treatment team, patient safety and environment of care rounds, and respond to psychiatric and medical care needs and emergencies as directed. Reports safety concerns, document nursing assessments, risk screens, nursing plan of care, patient safety rounds, and environment of care rounds according to facility policy. Maintain professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities and act in the best interest of the patient. Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to the development of healthcare professionals. Support colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.
