Registered Nurse- Urgent Care

<p>This position as a Registered Nurse is aligned under Primary Care within Urgent Care at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, OH. The incumbent is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients. They delegate and supervise basic nursing care of licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties include but are not limited to: Provides and directs others in Veteran/patient driven care that optimizes the patient's experience, satisfaction, and/or safety for a team of patients. Functions as an emerging leader in providing direction to staff to identify, implement and evaluate patient care needs. Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization. Demonstrates expanded knowledge base of the nursing process in the care of assigned patients. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the plan of care is achieved. Communicates and collaborates as an effective member of the interprofessional team demonstrating leadership responsibilities such as team leader/charge nurse. Shares knowledge and learning opportunities that enhance current nursing practice for self and others.
