This announcement may close without prior notification.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Specific duties and responsibilities for each Nurse vacancy varies based on the specialty, and will be discussed in more detail with the hiring manager upon referral/selection.Major duties include, but are not limited to: Teaching of health care and the prevention of illness Assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing care, and counsel Administration of medications and treatments Coordination and assistance in the delivery of a plan of health care Teaching and supervising of other nursing personnel Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. Delivering safe care to assigned patients, while developing technical competencies. Formulating a plan of care based on nursing assessments, using the nursing process, based on the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Completing initial assessment of patient condition and response to treatment and initiates follow-up as needed. Documenting the nursing process ensuring consistency, accuracy, that it is concise and timely. Evaluating and documenting patient response to interventions and progress towards attainment of goals and expected outcomes. Revising plan of care according to evaluations of patient's responses and outcome. Demonstrating appropriate and consistent critical thinking skills.
