Registered Nurse - Transition to Practice (TTP) Coordinator

ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Education & Learning Resources Service is seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse Transition to Practice (RNTTP) Coordinator to join our team. The RNTTP Coordinator is a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPDP) who is an expert learning facilitator, a change agent, a mentor, a leader, a champion of scientific inquiry, a partner for practice transitions, and advocate for nursing professional development that will provide the healthcare system with high-quality, veteran-centered care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties include but not limited to: Assisting with the planning, delivery, and evaluation process of the TTP Program. Assisting the RN Transition to Practice Residency Program in achieving its mission, goals, and expected outcomes. Assisting with BSN/MSN student placements and LPN/RN Student Clinical Placement. Responsible for the quality and quantity of program-specific training and establishes program initiatives and direction within limitations of available staff and budget. Contributes to education for the transition from academia to clinical practice, integration into the organization, and socialization into the professional nurse role. Administers the facility developed formal, data-driven, systematic plan for appraising the effectiveness of the RNTTP program and disseminates program outcomes. Determining and implementing a process to demonstrate program effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction. Establishing a 12-month program curriculum that is centered in management and delivery of quality and equitable care, professional role, and leadership development based on the CCNE Accreditation Standards as amended in 2015. Collaborating with the Nurse Managers, Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Leaders, Clinical Nurse Specialists and preceptors on program development, implementation, progress, and evaluation. Determining the RNTTP Residency Program start date in collaboration with nursing leadership. Facilitating the selection of RNTTP residents in collaboration with nursing leadership. Coordinating instructors/facilitators and classrooms for learning sessions, and confirmation/communication of dates/times. Ensuring the program curriculum reflects evidence-based practice and identifies expected learning outcomes. Facilitating the identification and selection of a mentor and supporting the mentee/mentor relationship. Directing, coordinating, and providing programmatic guidance for the new RNs, preceptors, and other RNTTP Residency Program team members. Communicating any concerns/issues that may arise to appropriate program stakeholders. Working with the Nurse Recruiter and Human Resources to ensure proper coding of the residents. Participating in monthly Office of Nursing Services (ONS) update/education calls. Coordinating a graduation or recognition ceremony at completion of the RNTTP Residency Program. All other duties as assigned.
