<p>Join the VA Black Hills Health Care System as a Resource Pool/Float Registered Nurse and provide high-quality, Veteran-centered care across multiple clinical settings. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to expand clinical expertise while caring for diverse patient populations, coordinating individualized care plans, educating patients and families, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes throughout the continuum of care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Resource Pool/Float Registered Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring Veterans receive safe, compassionate, and effective care wherever clinical support is needed most. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple patient care areas, gaining broad clinical experience while making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of Veterans. Duties include, but are not limited to: - Provide direct and indirect nursing care to Veterans across multiple inpatient and outpatient clinical settings within the Resource Pool. - Assess patient health needs, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes using the nursing process. - Coordinate care throughout the continuum of treatment, emphasizing patient education, self-management, and health promotion. - Administer medications, treatments, and clinical procedures in accordance with established standards, policies, and guidelines. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery. - Monitor patient conditions, identify changes in health status, and implement appropriate nursing interventions. - Delegate appropriate aspects of care based on patient needs, clinical priorities, and staff competencies while promoting patient safety. - Apply evidence-based nursing practices and participate in quality improvement activities that enhance patient outcomes and resource utilization. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
