Registered Nurse - PTSD Domiciliary

<p>The Domiciliary Mental Health (MH) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care. The domiciliary RN provides patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintains self-awareness while caring for patients living with substance use disorder and/or MH conditions. The domiciliary RN actively participates in MH interdisciplinary treatment team, patient safety and environment of care rounds, and responds to psychiatric and medical care needs as directed.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The primary responsibilities of this Registered Nurse may vary by assignment. Those duties may include but not limited to: Deliver professional practice using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) with general supervision. Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks ensuring assigned delegated tasks are completed by team members. Provide Veteran/patient driven care by optimizing the patient experience, satisfaction, and/or safety for assigned patients. Communicate and collaborate as an effective member of the interprofessional team, demonstrating progression from team member to team leader. Establish a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to achieve optimal function through assessment and treatment of their health enhancing the patient experience, satisfaction, and/or safety. Demonstrates the ability to communicate confidently with members of the healthcare team and demonstrate professional behaviors that promotes cooperation and teamwork. Seeks knowledge and learning opportunities that support current nursing practice and self-evaluation. Applies evidence-based practice/research, considering patient preferences to improve quality of care and resource utilization for assigned patients. Seek out new learning opportunities and share evidence-based practice/research with peers to improve patient care.
