<p>The healthcare professional provides knowledge-based care, assesses and plans age-specific care, coordinates patient education, self-management, and satisfaction, and administers medications per guidelines. They collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes and demonstrate biopsychosocial integration, technical skills, and a commitment to quality improvement and customer service, showcasing leadership in managing complex care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: The Nurse I, Level 1 Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. The focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments. Seeks guidance in how to improve care provided to patients and families. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient. The Nurse I, Level 2 Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization. Practice includes directing other providers. Partners with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum. Provides direct care for acutely ill patients who are moderately stable with an elevated risk for instability. The Nurse I, Level 3 Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and enhance outcomes utilization. Provides direct care for acutely ill patients who are moderately stable with an elevated risk for instability. Provides high intensity care and vigilance. This nurse integrates knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex situations. Validates understanding of the rationale for care processes and decisions. Demonstrates expanded knowledge base of the nursing process in the care of assigned patients. Developing basic leadership skills within the concept of the unit through seeking additional leadership experiences. The Nurse II Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Provides direct care for acutely ill patients who are moderately stable with an elevated risk for instability. Provides high intensity care and vigilance. Evaluates practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence. Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Contributes professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team. Partners with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes. The Nurse III Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for acutely ill patients who are moderately stable with an elevated risk for instability. Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement. Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.
